New car park in Birmingham finds a space for you

There is now a solution to the age old problem of never being able to find a space when you go into a car park.

Birmingham's newest sky scraper, The Cube, has one of the most sophisticated car parks in the world - the cars park themselves.

Despite costing more than £2mn, Neil Edington, of The Cube, said the automatic system was put in to save retail frontage.

And could the car park lose your car? Not according to the designers, Andrew Smith of WOHR Car Parking Systems, because each person has their own unique entry key.

Peter Plisner reports.
